CGPA Calculator — Free Online Cumulative GPA Tool

← Scholar BayThe Creative Island · Island 05

Add every semester you have completed — credits and grades — and watch your cumulative GPA appear instantly. Free, mobile-friendly, and it never leaves your browser.

Letter grades use the common Bangladeshi university scale (A+ = 4.00 … D = 2.00, F = 0.00). If your university uses a different table, switch to points mode.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose a grade input style: type grade points directly (like 3.75), or pick letter grades (like A) and let the tool convert them.
  2. For each completed semester, enter its total credits and the GPA you earned that semester.
  3. Press + Add semester for every semester you want to count.
  4. Press Calculate CGPA — your cumulative GPA appears with total credits and grade points.
  5. Use Reset to start fresh. Nothing is saved, so re-entering is normal.

Example

Four semesters completed:
SemesterCreditsGrade point
143.75
243.25
334.00
433.50
Grade points: (4×3.75) + (4×3.25) + (3×4.00) + (3×3.50) = 50.50, over 14 credits → CGPA = 50.50 ÷ 14 = 3.61.

The formula

CGPA = Σ(credits × grade points) ÷ Σ(credits)

What the result means

CGPA is the weighted average of all your semester GPAs — semesters with more credits pull the average harder. On the common 4.00 scale, 3.75+ is outstanding (first-class equivalent at most Bangladeshi universities), 3.25–3.74 is very good, and below 2.25 needs a rescue plan. Always check your own university's official scale and classification rules.

Frequently asked questions

How does this CGPA calculator work?

It multiplies each semester's credits by its grade points, adds everything up, and divides by the total number of credits — the exact weighted-average method universities use.

My university's letter-grade table is different. Can I still use it?

Yes. Switch to Points mode and enter grade points exactly as your university reports them. The letter-grade table here (A+ = 4.00 … F = 0.00) is the common Bangladeshi pattern, but tables vary between universities.

Is my data uploaded or saved anywhere?

No. Every calculation happens inside your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, stored or sent to any server — refresh the page and it is gone.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes — it was designed phone-first. Big buttons, big inputs, no horizontal scrolling.

What is the difference between GPA and CGPA?

GPA covers one semester; CGPA is the cumulative average across all completed semesters. Need just one semester? Use the GPA Calculator.

Is the result exact?

The arithmetic is exact. Small differences from your university's official transcript can come from rounding rules, repeated courses or excluded grades — treat this as a precise estimate, not an official document.
