SSC GPA Calculator — Bangladesh Board GPA (5.00 Scale)

← Scholar BayThe Creative Island · Island 05

The SSC calculator for Bangladesh — enter your grades (or marks) subject by subject, mark the 4th subject, and get your GPA on the official 5.00 scale. Free, private and made for phones.

SSC scale (Bangladesh): A+ = 5.00 (80+), A = 4.00 (70–79), A− = 3.50 (60–69), B = 3.00 (50–59), C = 2.00 (40–49), D = 1.00 (33–39), F = 0.00 (below 33). For subjects with two papers, enter the average of both papers.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter your subjects — Bangla, English and your group subjects come first (for two-paper subjects like Bangla and English, enter the average of both papers).
  2. Tick 4th subject on your optional subject — in SSC it adds bonus points instead of counting in the division.
  3. Choose letter grades or marks, then press Calculate SSC GPA.

Example

A science-group result:
SubjectGradePoint
BanglaA+5.00
EnglishA4.00
PhysicsA+5.00
ChemistryA−3.50
Higher MathematicsA+5.00
Biology (4th)A+5.00
Main points: 5 + 4 + 5 + 3.5 + 5 = 22.50 · 4th-subject bonus: 5.00 − 2 = 3.00 → (22.50 + 3.00) ÷ 5 subjects = GPA 5.00 — a golden A+, rescued by the 4th subject.

The formula

SSC GPA = (sum of main-subject points + (4th-subject point − 2)) ÷ number of main subjects

What the result means

SSC GPA in Bangladesh is computed on the 5.00 scale over your main subjects only — usually five: Bangla, English and three group subjects. The 4th (optional) subject never joins the division; instead it donates its points minus 2 as a bonus (an A+ gives 3.00, an A gives 2.00, and anything below B+ gives nothing, since the bonus never goes below zero). That is why a strong 4th subject can lift a 4.60 to a 5.00, and why every subject still matters: a single F in a main subject caps the whole result at 0.00 until the board's own rules apply.

Frequently asked questions

How does the 4th subject bonus work?

Take your 4th subject's grade point, subtract 2, and add the result to your total — but only if the subtraction is positive (A− or lower gives no bonus). The divisor stays the number of main subjects. This matches the official SSC calculation used by Bangladeshi education boards.

Can I calculate HSC GPA with this too?

Yes — HSC uses the same 5.00 scale and the same 4th-subject rule, so the arithmetic is identical. Enter your HSC subjects the same way.

Why do I enter the average for two-paper subjects?

Bangla and English each have two papers, but the board counts them as one subject. Add both paper marks and divide by 2 (or average the two grades) — the Percentage Calculator can do that division for you.

What is a golden GPA 5?

GPA 5.00 earned with A+ in every subject — including the 4th. If the calculator shows 5.00 but one main subject was below A+, your 4th subject carried you: still GPA 5, just not the golden kind.

Is my data private?

Completely. The calculator runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded or saved anywhere.

Study Timer — Free Pomodoro Timer for Exams

← Scholar BayThe Creative Island · Island 05

The classic 25/5 Pomodoro rhythm — deep work, short breaks, zero noise. One button, one bell, full focus.

FOCUS
25:00

One focus session = 25 minutes. Then a 5-minute break.

Sessions completed: 0

How to use this tool

  1. Pick one task — one chapter, one problem set, one essay section.
  2. Press Start and work with full focus until the bell: 25 minutes.
  3. Take the 5-minute break exactly as it comes — stand up, stretch, look far away.
  4. After four focus sessions, take a longer break (15–30 minutes). Repeat.

Example

One evening of 4 focus sessions = 100 minutes of real deep work and only 15 minutes of breaks — usually more than most people manage in a whole distracted day. The session counter above keeps the score.

What the result means

Pomodoro works because the deal is small: you only have to focus for 25 minutes, not “the whole evening”. The timer makes the deal real, the bell ends the debate, and the session count turns effort into a visible score you want to grow.

Frequently asked questions

Why 25 minutes and not more?

It is short enough to start without dread and long enough for real momentum. The rhythm is a starting point — many people later stretch to 50/10. Start with 25/5; earn the right to change it by finishing a few sessions first.

The timer slows down when I switch apps or lock my phone. Why?

Browsers slow background timers to save battery. Keep this tab in the foreground while studying — the whole point is staying with the task anyway.

Does the bell need the internet?

No — the sound is generated by your device's own audio engine. If sound is muted, the visual phase change still signals every switch.

Are my sessions saved?

No. The counter lives only on this page and resets when you leave. No accounts, no tracking, nothing stored.

Can I use it for non-study work?

Absolutely — writing, designing, chores. Focus is focus; Pomodoro does not care what you focus on.

Exam Countdown — Count the Days Until Your Exam

← Scholar BayThe Creative Island · Island 05

Set the date, press start, and watch the days, hours, minutes and seconds fall — a quiet daily reminder that the exam is coming.

Nothing is saved — come back and re-enter whenever you like. The countdown runs while the page is open.

How to use this tool

  1. Type your exam name — anything: “Physics final”, “Medical admission”, “IELTS”.
  2. Pick the date and the start time of the exam.
  3. Press Start countdown and keep the tab open — the timer updates every second.

Example

Today is September 8 and your final is on September 30 at 10:00 AM: the countdown reads 22 days to go — about three full weeks. Split that into subjects, keep the last three days for revision, and the mountain becomes stairs.

What the result means

Days-to-go is the honest number behind every study plan: it turns “the exam is soon” into a count you can divide by subjects. When it hits zero, the tool switches to exam-day mode — good luck.

Frequently asked questions

Does the countdown keep running after I close the page?

No — it runs while the page is open and nothing is saved. This is deliberate: no accounts, no storage, no data leaving your device. Bookmark the page and reopen it whenever you want the count.

Can I track multiple exams?

One exam per visit keeps the tool simple. For a second exam, reset and enter it — or keep two browser tabs open.

Why does the time matter?

The countdown runs to the exact start time, so “1 day to go” means one true day before you sit down, not just a date change at midnight.

Does it work offline?

Once the page is loaded, the timer keeps working without a connection until you close or reload it.

Is my exam data private?

Yes — the name and date you type never leave your browser.

Percentage Calculator — Marks, Discounts & Change

← Scholar BayThe Creative Island · Island 05

Three percentage jobs in one tool: find a percent of a number, find what percent one number is of another, and measure percentage change.

How to use this tool

  1. Pick the tab that matches your question — the tool switches instantly.
  2. Type your numbers; results appear as you type. No submit button needed.
  3. Use Reset all to clear every field.

Example

Marks: you scored 45 out of 60 — the What percent tab gives 45 ÷ 60 × 100 = 75%.
Discount: a 2,500 taka shirt at 30% off — the Percent of a number tab gives 30% of 2,500 = 750 taka saved.
Growth: your study hours went from 52 to 65 a month — the Percent change tab gives +25%.

The formula

part ÷ whole × 100 = percentage   |   change = (new − old) ÷ |old| × 100

What the result means

A percentage is just a fraction out of 100 — it lets you compare things of different sizes fairly. Percentage change always compares against the old value, which is why a 50% loss needs a 100% gain to recover.

Frequently asked questions

When do I use which tab?

Percent of a number answers “what is 35% of 80?”. What percent answers “45 is what percent of 60?”. Percent change answers “how much did it grow or shrink from old to new?”

Why is the percentage-change formula using the absolute old value?

So that changes from negative starting numbers still point in the right direction. For everyday positive numbers it behaves exactly as you expect.

Is a 100% increase the same as doubling?

Yes. And a 50% decrease is not undone by a 50% increase — 100 → 50 → 75. Percentages are not symmetric going down and up.

Does this tool save my numbers?

No. Everything is computed in your browser and disappears when you leave the page.

Can I use decimals and negative numbers?

Yes — decimals anywhere, and negatives work everywhere except as the whole or the old value in change calculations.

Attendance Calculator — How Many Classes Can You Skip?

← Scholar BayThe Creative Island · Island 05

Know exactly where you stand — your attendance percentage, how many classes you can still skip, or how many you must attend in a row to be safe.

Most universities and schools in Bangladesh require 75% attendance to sit for exams — some require 80% or 60%. Enter your institution's rule.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter how many classes have been held so far this semester (check your register or portal).
  2. Enter how many you actually attended.
  3. Set your institution's required percentage — 75 is the common rule in Bangladesh.
  4. Press Calculate to see your percentage, your safe margin, and exactly what to do next.

Example

40 classes held, you attended 32, required 75%: 32 ÷ 40 = 80% attendance — you are safe, with room to skip 2 more classes (32 ÷ 42 = 76.2% still ≥ 75%). Skip a third and you land at 74.4% — short.

The formula

attendance % = attended ÷ held × 100   |   max skips = ⌊ attended × 100 ÷ required − held ⌋

What the result means

The SAFE badge means you are at or above the line; the number beside it is your margin — how many absences you can still absorb. SHORT means you are below the line, and the tool tells you the unbroken attendance streak needed to climb back. The mathematics assumes every future class happens and you attend all of them.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 75% rule apply everywhere?

It is the most common requirement in Bangladeshi schools and universities, but it varies — some institutions use 60%, 80% or count per-course. Always confirm your own institution's rule and enter it in the required field.

What if medical leave or holidays change the class count?

Adjust the numbers: add held classes only for those that actually took place, and check your institution's medical-leave policy — many excuse absences with proper documents.

Why does it say I must attend every class from now on?

Because that is the fastest mathematical recovery. Each additional held class dilutes your absence record; the streak number is the shortest path back to the required line.

Is my attendance data stored?

No. The calculation happens entirely in your browser and nothing is saved or sent anywhere.

Can I use this as a teacher?

Yes — the math works for any register: enter the class totals and a student's count to see who is near the line.

Final Grade Calculator — Marks Needed in Your Final Exam

← Scholar BayThe Creative Island · Island 05

The exam is next week — what marks do you actually need on it to finish with your target grade? Enter three numbers and breathe.

“Weight of the final” is how much of the total course the final exam carries — often 30%, 40% or 50%. Ask your teacher or check the syllabus.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter your current marks in the course so far, as a percentage (coursework, midterms, quizzes).
  2. Enter the weight of the final exam — what share of the total grade it carries.
  3. Enter your target overall grade — the percentage you want to finish the course with.
  4. Press Calculate to see the exact marks needed on the final.

Example

Coursework so far: 68%. Final exam: 40% of the grade. Target: 75% overall. Needed = (75 − 68 × 0.6) ÷ 0.4 = (75 − 40.8) ÷ 0.4 = 85.5% on the final. Demanding, but in reach.

The formula

needed on final = ( target − current × (1 − weight) ) ÷ weight

What the result means

The answer tells you which game you are playing: IN REACH means the target is mathematically possible — the number shown is your minimum on the final. NOT POSSIBLE means even a perfect final cannot reach the target, and the tool shows your realistic maximum. SECURED means you cannot fall below the target even with a zero — protect that lead.

Frequently asked questions

My course counts in marks, not percentages. Does it still work?

Yes — convert first: divide your earned marks by the maximum possible so far and multiply by 100. A percentage calculator does it in a second.

What if the final has internal choice or grading curves?

This tool assumes straight percentage weighting — the standard case. Curves and class adjustments happen after the raw math, so treat the result as your raw-marks target.

It says I need more than 100%. Now what?

The target is out of reach on this exam. Shift the goal: use the tool again with the best realistic target, and focus your remaining energy where marks are still open (assignments, practicals).

Can I use it for school exams, not just university?

Yes — anywhere one exam carries a known share of the final result.

Is my data private?

Yes — everything is calculated in your browser and nothing is stored or uploaded.

GPA Calculator — Semester GPA in Seconds

← Scholar BayThe Creative Island · Island 05

One semester, course by course — enter credits and grades, get your semester GPA instantly. Free, private and made for phones.

Letter grades use the common Bangladeshi university scale (A+ = 4.00 … F = 0.00).

How to use this tool

  1. Pick a grade input style: direct points (3.75) or letter grades (A).
  2. For each course this semester, enter its credits and your grade.
  3. Add or remove course rows until your whole semester is listed.
  4. Press Calculate GPA for your semester GPA, total credits and grade points.

Example

A semester with four courses:
CourseCreditsGrade
Course 13A+ (4.00)
Course 23A (3.75)
Course 32B+ (3.25)
Course 43A− (3.50)
Grade points: 12 + 11.25 + 6.5 + 10.5 = 40.25 over 11 credits → GPA = 3.66.

The formula

GPA = Σ(course credits × grade points) ÷ Σ(course credits)

What the result means

Your semester GPA is the credit-weighted average of that term's courses — a 3-credit course influences it one and a half times more than a 2-credit course. Universities combine these semester GPAs (again weighted by credits) into your CGPA across the whole program.

Frequently asked questions

How is semester GPA different from CGPA?

GPA is for one semester only. CGPA combines every completed semester. Once this semester ends, carry the result to the CGPA Calculator to see your cumulative picture.

Can I use letter grades instead of points?

Yes — switch to Letter grades mode. The tool converts using the common Bangladeshi table (A+ = 4.00 … F = 0.00). If your university's table differs, use points mode with your official values.

Is my data private?

Completely. The calculator runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded or saved anywhere.

Does a failed course count?

Yes — enter F as 0.00 with its credits, because failed credits usually drag your GPA down until you retake the course. Your university's retake policy decides how the repeat is computed.

Why did my GPA come out lower than my average grade?

Because credits weight the average. One bad grade in a high-credit course can outweigh several good grades in low-credit courses.

CGPA Calculator — Free Online Cumulative GPA Tool

← Scholar BayThe Creative Island · Island 05

Add every semester you have completed — credits and grades — and watch your cumulative GPA appear instantly. Free, mobile-friendly, and it never leaves your browser.

Letter grades use the common Bangladeshi university scale (A+ = 4.00 … D = 2.00, F = 0.00). If your university uses a different table, switch to points mode.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose a grade input style: type grade points directly (like 3.75), or pick letter grades (like A) and let the tool convert them.
  2. For each completed semester, enter its total credits and the GPA you earned that semester.
  3. Press + Add semester for every semester you want to count.
  4. Press Calculate CGPA — your cumulative GPA appears with total credits and grade points.
  5. Use Reset to start fresh. Nothing is saved, so re-entering is normal.

Example

Four semesters completed:
SemesterCreditsGrade point
143.75
243.25
334.00
433.50
Grade points: (4×3.75) + (4×3.25) + (3×4.00) + (3×3.50) = 50.50, over 14 credits → CGPA = 50.50 ÷ 14 = 3.61.

The formula

CGPA = Σ(credits × grade points) ÷ Σ(credits)

What the result means

CGPA is the weighted average of all your semester GPAs — semesters with more credits pull the average harder. On the common 4.00 scale, 3.75+ is outstanding (first-class equivalent at most Bangladeshi universities), 3.25–3.74 is very good, and below 2.25 needs a rescue plan. Always check your own university's official scale and classification rules.

Frequently asked questions

How does this CGPA calculator work?

It multiplies each semester's credits by its grade points, adds everything up, and divides by the total number of credits — the exact weighted-average method universities use.

My university's letter-grade table is different. Can I still use it?

Yes. Switch to Points mode and enter grade points exactly as your university reports them. The letter-grade table here (A+ = 4.00 … F = 0.00) is the common Bangladeshi pattern, but tables vary between universities.

Is my data uploaded or saved anywhere?

No. Every calculation happens inside your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, stored or sent to any server — refresh the page and it is gone.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes — it was designed phone-first. Big buttons, big inputs, no horizontal scrolling.

What is the difference between GPA and CGPA?

GPA covers one semester; CGPA is the cumulative average across all completed semesters. Need just one semester? Use the GPA Calculator.

Is the result exact?

The arithmetic is exact. Small differences from your university's official transcript can come from rounding rules, repeated courses or excluded grades — treat this as a precise estimate, not an official document.
