250 units with the example slabs: first 75 units × 4.19 = 314.25 ৳; next 125 × 5.72 = 715 ৳; next 50 × 6.00 = 300 ৳. Energy = 1,329.25 ৳ + 45 fixed + 5% = ≈ 1,438 ৳

The formula

bill = Σ(units in slab × slab rate) + fixed charges, then + VAT%

What the result means

Slab billing means your last units cost the most — crossing a slab boundary raises only the units above it to the new rate, not everything. That's why two neighbors can pay very different per-unit averages, and why cutting usage at the top of your bill saves the most money.

Frequently asked questions

Are the default rates correct for my provider?

They are an example structure only. Bangladesh slab rates change by government revision and differ between residential, commercial and pre-paid meters — always copy the rates from your own bill.

Why did my per-unit average come out higher than the first slab?

Because units above each threshold are billed at higher rates; the average lands between your lowest and highest slab rates.

Does it include arrears, loans or meter rent?

Only through the fixed-charge and percentage fields. Check your bill's itemized extras and add them there.

Is my data private?
