Study Timer — Free Pomodoro Timer for Exams

← Scholar BayThe Creative Island · Island 05

The classic 25/5 Pomodoro rhythm — deep work, short breaks, zero noise. One button, one bell, full focus.

FOCUS
25:00

One focus session = 25 minutes. Then a 5-minute break.

Sessions completed: 0

How to use this tool

  1. Pick one task — one chapter, one problem set, one essay section.
  2. Press Start and work with full focus until the bell: 25 minutes.
  3. Take the 5-minute break exactly as it comes — stand up, stretch, look far away.
  4. After four focus sessions, take a longer break (15–30 minutes). Repeat.

Example

One evening of 4 focus sessions = 100 minutes of real deep work and only 15 minutes of breaks — usually more than most people manage in a whole distracted day. The session counter above keeps the score.

What the result means

Pomodoro works because the deal is small: you only have to focus for 25 minutes, not “the whole evening”. The timer makes the deal real, the bell ends the debate, and the session count turns effort into a visible score you want to grow.

Frequently asked questions

Why 25 minutes and not more?

It is short enough to start without dread and long enough for real momentum. The rhythm is a starting point — many people later stretch to 50/10. Start with 25/5; earn the right to change it by finishing a few sessions first.

The timer slows down when I switch apps or lock my phone. Why?

Browsers slow background timers to save battery. Keep this tab in the foreground while studying — the whole point is staying with the task anyway.

Does the bell need the internet?

No — the sound is generated by your device's own audio engine. If sound is muted, the visual phase change still signals every switch.

Are my sessions saved?

No. The counter lives only on this page and resets when you leave. No accounts, no tracking, nothing stored.

Can I use it for non-study work?

Absolutely — writing, designing, chores. Focus is focus; Pomodoro does not care what you focus on.
