Discount Calculator — Sale Price & Savings Instantly
← Ledger HarborThe Creative Island · Island 06
That '30% off' sign — what does it actually cost? Two numbers in, the honest price out.
How to use this tool
- Enter the original price on the tag.
- Enter the discount percentage the shop is advertising.
- Press Calculate — see the final price and your savings.
Example
A shirt tagged 2,500 ৳ at 30% off: 30% of 2,500 = 750 ৳ saved, so you pay 1,750 ৳.
The formula
savings = price × discount% ÷ 100 | final price = price − savings
What the result means
The final price is what leaves your pocket; the savings line tells you whether the offer is worth the trip. Watch the classic trick: some shops raise the 'original price' first — if a discount looks unbelievable, it usually is.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate a discount quickly in my head?
Drop the zero: 10% of 2,500 is 250. So 30% is 3 × 250 = 750. Pay 2,500 − 750 = 1,750.
The shop says 'flat 500 taka off' — can this tool help?
That's a fixed amount, not a percentage. Just subtract it yourself — or use the percentage that 500 represents (500 ÷ price × 100).
What about stacked discounts like 20% off then another 10%?
They don't add to 30%. Apply them in sequence: 100 → 80 → 72. Use the tool twice to see each step.
