Meters to feet? KG to pounds? Celsius to Fahrenheit? One converter, six categories, instant answers.

How to use this tool

  1. Pick a category — length, weight, temperature, speed, area, volume or data.
  2. Choose the units and type your value — the answer appears as you type.
  3. Use Swap to reverse the conversion instantly.

Example

A 5'9" person: 5 feet + 9 inches → (5 × 0.3048) + (9 × 0.0254) = 1.7526 meters ≈ 175 cm. Or convert 5.75 feet directly with the Length category.

The formula

result = value × (from-unit ÷ base unit) × (base unit ÷ to-unit); temperature converts through Celsius/Kelvin

What the result means

Every unit in a category secretly converts through one base unit (meters, kilograms...), which is why any pair converts both ways. Temperature is special because its scales have offsets (0°C = 32°F, not 0), so it converts through Kelvin rather than simple multiplication.

Frequently asked questions

Is the bigha conversion exact?

No — the South Asian bigha varies by region (in Bangladesh it is commonly around 1,338 m², in parts of India 1,600–2,500 m²). The value here is labeled 'approx' for that reason.

Why does data use 1024 instead of 1000?

Traditional binary prefixes: 1 KB = 210 = 1,024 bytes. Storage manufacturers use decimal 1,000 — which is why a '1 TB' drive shows ~931 GB in Windows.

Does it work offline?

Once the page is loaded, all conversions run locally — no internet needed for the math.

Can I convert negative temperatures?

Yes — temperature handles any value, including below-zero and Kelvin conversions.
