ROI Calculator — Return on Investment in Seconds

← Ledger HarborThe Creative Island · Island 06

What did that money actually earn? Enter investment and return — see the percentage that tells the story.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter the amount you invested (equipment, stock, ad spend, anything).
  2. Enter the final value you got back (or the value today).
  3. Optionally enter the months it took — for an annualized rate.
  4. Press Calculate ROI.

Example

You spend 50,000 ৳ on stock, sell everything for 62,000 ৳ after 18 months. Profit 12,000 ৳ → ROI = 24%, or about 15.5% per year annualized.

The formula

ROI = (final value − investment) ÷ investment × 100  |  annualized = (V/I)^(1/years) − 1

What the result means

ROI is the great equalizer: it lets you compare a cow, a shop and a fixed deposit by percentage instead of taka. The annualized figure matters — 24% over 18 months is far less impressive than 24% in 3 months, and comparing investments of different lengths without it is misleading.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good ROI?

Compare against the safest alternative — bank fixed deposits. If your effort and risk earn barely more than a deposit, the investment is not working hard enough.

Why does the annualized number matter?

Because time is part of the cost. Doubling money in 2 years (~41%/yr) is far better than doubling it in 10 years (~7%/yr), even though both are +100% ROI.

Can I use it for marketing spend?

Yes — invest 5,000 in ads, attribute 9,000 in sales: ROI = 80%. Just be honest about attribution.

Is my data private?

Yes — the tool runs entirely in your browser.
